The patron saint of Happy Valley Pride returns with very special guests THE GLITTERBOMB DANCERS!

Hedgerows Hum with high heels’ havoc,
as hives, hexes, and hysteria
waft o’er the vale.

The undisputed patron saint of Happy Valley Pride, David Hoyle is the original performance avalanche – an all singing, all raging bona-fide performance legend. His recent online collab with Parisian fashion house Mugler has once again catapulted him into the headlines.

‘A patron saint of queer creative expression, David Hoyle is as deserving of national treasure status as Paddington Bear is. He’s also wickedly funny’ - British Vogue.

For the last four decades, Hoyle has queered the boundaries between live art, performance, theatre and cabaret – conquering nightlife around the world and working extensively in film and TV. His infamous alter-ego ‘The Divine David’ transported him from radical alternative settings in the '80s to the studios of Channel 4 in the '90s.

A prolific visual artist, he exhibited an exhibition of his paintings at Goswell Road gallery in Paris and in 2024 The Aviva Studios in Manchester held a three-week long retrospective of his career (so far) called Please Feel Free to Ignore My Work bringing together key themes that run through his output: gender, mental health, AIDS, revolution, decadence and the effects of capitalism.

The Glitterbomb Dancers join David following their spandex-clad, hi-nrg routines at Happy Valley Pride and David's biggest ever show, 'Still Got It'? at Aviva Studios.

David Hoyle: ‘Terrorising terrestrial TV with his anti-drag persona, a raucous mix of political commentary, comedy and experimental fashion choices’ – Dazed.

‘He is raw, sometimes frightening, but also thrilling in his look-no-hands recklessness’ – The Guardian.

Jacob Alon

SOLD-OUT.

The first show to be announced for this year's Happy Valley Pride festival, Jacob Alon is a Scottish singer-songwriter with a profound gift for storytelling. Both intimate and devastatingly introspective, their music is touched by a rare timelessness. Drawing fair comparisons to artists such as Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright, Alon’s sound cuts through the air with powerful and haunting vocals, intricate guitar playing, and pensive, poetic lyrics.

'Breathtaking' - NME.

'A distinctive and powerful voice' - Rolling Stone.

'Heart-stoppingly beautiful' - Clash.

'They are going to be huge' - The Herald.

Alon recently made a big impression on Later with Jools Holland (see the video below)...
