Hello from Nature Queers!
We run Nature Queers sessions in Hardcastle Craggs - the National Trusts woodland of sanctuary.
We have funded places (with a small transport pot of funding) available for LGBTQ+ people who are any of the following: refugees and asylum seekers, 18-24, 66 years+, on a low income, socially excluded or receiving support from mental health and community support services.

This link shows you the events we currently have live. Free ticket booking will go live from tomorrow. We have guaranteed funded places for the next 3 sessions:
23rd July: A day play session in the woods - imagine an friendly escape room with socialising.
24th July: 6-8pm. Relaxing pre-pride meet and greet with a campfire.
22nd August: 11.30-2.30pm Summer picnic. Bring your own summer picnic and food share in the cool woodlands by the river. With foraged wild drinks on offer for free.
The venue is a woodland venue and has uneven ground and has a number of steps. There are toilets nearby and places to sit and rest. The space will be held by LGBTQ+ facilitators and our focus is nature connection and feeling safe in LGBTQ+ community.
We are also running a programme of free taster sessions in central Hebden at the Big Day Out for Happy Valley Pride on Saturday 25th July.
We appreciate that you may get a lot of challenges, particularly transport and we are more than happy to talk through any obstacles to see if we can solve them together to get groups into nature!
Please feel free to get in touch at [email protected] if you have any questions and we'll be happy to help!
Yours with pride,
Thryn, Leonie and the Nature Queers team.
